Hser Ner Moo Community & Welcome Center

Funded by a federal grant, the 21st Century Community Learning Center at Hser Ner Moo is administered through the Utah State Office of Education and the United Way of Salt Lake - Women's Philanthropic Network. The HNM Community & Welcome Center serves the residents at the South Parc Townhomes apartment complex, most of whom are refugees, and other residents living within the boundaries of South Salt Lake City.

The City combines its efforts with various agencies and organizations including:

For school-aged children, the City provides after school programs which include homework tutoring, character education (art, music, prevention activities ...) and recreation. In addition, programming at HNM offers ESL, computer literacy, pre-driving classes and other life skill development programs for adults.

The various programs offered at the Center are developed to benefit the children, their families, and the community. Our mission is to expand the community’s capacity to come together to assess/identify and address challenges, to support each other as friends, neighbors, and community members in sharing our strengths as individuals, families, or groups as we become more connected to each other and to our community.
