The City of South Salt Lake is accepting applications to compile a hiring list for the following positions:

• FIREFIGHTER / PARAMEDIC

  The Firefighter/Paramedic works under the direction of a Station Officer; performs fire suppression, rescue, property conservation activities and advanced emergency medical and life support care.

  Candidates must be certifiable as a PARAMEDIC by December 2008.  A copy of the certification or proof of current enrollment in paramedic training and proof of current Utah drivers license must be attached to the application. Paramedics who do not currently possess the FIREFIGHTER certifications may apply. Assistance will be given to candidates to obtain the required certifications. Those already certified must attach a copy to the application. MONTHLY SALARY RANGE: $2,863 – 4,238 (typically hire at minimum), plus paramedic certification pay of $200–350 per month based upon years paramedic experience.
