1st Annual SSL PAL Celebrity Golf Classic
Save the date! SSL PAL will be hosting the 1st annual SSL PAL Celebrity Golf Classic on Monday, June 25, 2012 at River Oaks Golf Course. The entry fee is $75 per player, and includes 18 holes of golf, a cart and lunch. Registration forms will be posted soon! If your business would like to sponsor a hole, please contact Melanie White at 801-688-3810.
Mission Statement
South Salt Lake PAL is a positive youth development organization that utilizes educational, athletic and recreational activities to:
- create trust and understanding between police officers and youth
- provide mentoring opportunities to youth
- connect youth with strong and positive role models in the community
- encourage healthy decision making and self-esteem, and
- create and promote community partnerships and involvement.
Programs
- NFL Flag Football - an after school program in the spring and fall for boys and girls, 12-14 years old.
- PAL Mentoring - provides the opportunity to build structured & trusting relationships between young people and caring mentors.
- Street Hockey - events held throughout the summer at various community events.
- TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More) - an after school program at Granite Park Jr. High, focused on community service & peer leadership initiatives.

- PAL Pete Suazo Boxing Center - youth first participate in an hour of homework and tutoring, then move on to their choice of boxing or various other fitness or arts activities.
- SSL Rec & PAL Baseball - the team competes in inter-league play with other teams throughout the Salt Lake area.
