Deputy Fire Chief Terry Addison
Deputy Chief Terry Addison brings over 23 years of public service to the South Salt Lake Fire Department where he has served as a Hazardous Materials Technician, Heavy Rescue Technician, Arson Investigator, station Captain, and Battalion Chief. He proudly served in the United States Air Force as a Special Operations, Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) member before joining the department. He holds a POST certification from the State of Utah and has extensive experience at the federal and municipal level. Terry served as a member of the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force for the District of Utah for over four years and was named “Law Enforcement Officer of the Year for 2010” by the United States Marshal Service. For over 13 years he served as a tactical operator and team medic for the South Salt Lake Police Department’s SWAT team. Since 2000 Terry has been a Chief Instructor for ROCO Rescue where he has trained numerous emergency responders throughout the country in confined space and rope rescues.
Deputy Chief Addison holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire Administration from Columbia Southern University and is currently completing his Masters Degree in Public Administration with an emphasis in Emergency Services Management.
He and his wife are the proud parents of two children. His outside interests involve hiking, traveling, and spending time with his family and dogs.
