The City provides weekly residential garbage collection for residential customers (single family units and duplexes only). Place your containers at curbside by 7:00 a.m. on your designated morning. The collection is scheduled as follows:
EXCEPTIONS: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day holidays. Everyone’s pickup day will be one day later that week. Pick-up times vary throughout the day according to contractor’s workload. If you have any problems with your pickup, contact Ace Disposal at (801) 363-9995. To request extra cans for an additional fee or to report a damaged can, contact Utility Billing at (801) 483-6074.
Curbside Clean-Up

The City provides curbside cleanup twice a year. Residents may leave items/materials to be collected at the curb up to one week before the scheduled pick-up. Certain restrictions apply. Notices indicating dates for pick-up in your neighborhood will be delivered. These services are provided free of charge. For more information, contact the Street Department at (801) 483-6045.
Transfer Station
City residents can use the transfer station located at 502 West 3300 South, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., SATURDAYS ONLY. To use the facility, residents will need to obtain a free card from the Business Licensing Department at City Hall. For more information, contact Business Licensing at (801) 483-6063.
Bulk Waste Trailer Rental (Dumpsters)
Bulk waste trailers are available to South Salt Lake residents only on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations must be made in person at the Finance Department in City Hall, 220 East Morris Avenue (2430 South) 2nd floor. Residents must pay a non-refundable $25.00 usage fee when making reservations, and sign a Debris Trailer Rental Agreement. To view or download the agreement, click here.
Residents may use bulk waste trailers to dispose of yard refuse and debris, including tree limbs, leaves, shrubbery, and grass trimmings, as well as items such as used carpet, large or small appliances, auto parts, etc. with the exclusion of the following:
